The year is ending but Pembroke looks to the Future

by Lauren Mulkern
Seniors are suddenly thrown onto the streets and are lost. They realize that high school is over and they are stepping out of their safety zone. With school being over, seniors are just looking forward to a fun summer before either college or work.
This came up very quickly and the seniors were not prepared. They are starting to feel nervous because they realize that high school is basically over.
Pembroke High is thinking about a new way to prepare their seniors for when they get out of school. The program is the Senior Project.
Seniors now have the option to take fourth quarter off. This is if they go into an internship that compliments their idea for the future. This includes their major or future place of work. However, they can not be paid.
Unfortunately, there is a conflict that some seniors may run into. If you take an A.P. course, the project will conflict with your schedule. You have to attend you’re A.P. classes. Therefore, you will not have time to participate in the internship.
Personally, I like the idea of the Senior Project. People will be able to experiment what they are interested in doing in the future. This way they will be way ahead and have an idea of what they want to pursue.
A lot of people have no idea what to major in and this head start will help limit themselves.
PHS juniors are very excited and eager to get started with this Project.

Good lede.

"This includes their major or future place of work. However, they can not be paid.
Unfortunately, there is a conflict that some seniors may run into..." - Valid points, but abrupt transition. A little "tacked on" to the point you are trying to make.

Good peg. Relevant and timely, but a little disorganized. Are you praising the project or criticizing the format?
