The very thought of junior year has underclassmen everywhere shaking in their boots. After many lackadaisical years they prepare themselves for the struggle of their lives so they can perform well and get into a good college.
However, when these underclassmen get into their junior year, most of them realize something.
“It really isn’t all that bad. If you have some AP classes, you might have to work slightly harder. But besides that, it’s not all that different [than previous years]. I was scared it was going to be the worst year of my life,” said junior Ahmad Marzuq.
There are several reasons why some students actually believe the myth that junior year is the worst year. The most obvious reason is that they are told this by upperclassmen. However, as Ahmad hinted at, a lot of the students over exaggerate the situation. Certainly AP classes are difficult, but they are offered for grades 10-12.
Furthermore, they are about certain to over exaggerate at the end of the school year when some juniors are pounded by AP exams, SATs, and finals at the same time.
“The end of the year may be a little rough, with all the tests. But, the rest of the year is the same or even more fun than previous years,” said Ahmad.
In fact, juniors enjoy several privileges that underclassmen do not have. For instance, they can drive cars to school, go to the senior prom, have first dibs at classes for next year, have the chance to get into National Honors Society, and have more AP class options.
On the other hand, there are seniors that will argue that senior year is the most difficult.
Senior, Christina Kellher, said, “Junior year wasn’t even that bad. Senior year is definitely when the pressure kicks in. You got SATs, college applications, scholarships… It all comes down to senior year.”

Good subject for posting, but no real clear peg.
Offer more personal comments, although quotes are good.
